7-9-2025 – There will be roadworks on the N247 in September and October. If you’re traveling by car, you may need to take an alternative route. The work is as follows:
– Between September 27 and October 26, the N247 will be closed between the Bernard Bridge in Monnickendam and the N244. The Kloosterdijk will also be closed. If you’re coming from Purmerend/Volendam/Edam, you’ll need to detour via the Schouw. The work is so extensive that we’re working with a “Volendam team” and a “Monnickendam team” during this period. We’ll meet again in person at the end of October.

9-7-2025 – The P detour is now well-known to anyone visiting the Waterland area. This coming weekend (July 11-12-13), Monnickendam will only be accessible via the A7/Purmerend – the road between Broek in Waterland and Monnickendam will be closed. Immediately afterward, the other sections up to Schouw will be replaced during the week. Plan your route and keep in mind that sections will be closed in the evenings and at night during the week. 19-2-2025 – Now that construction of the Gouwhaven district has started, the access road for cars will change for us at the Waterland location. Please note! This description only applies to the Waterland location.
Where you now turn off at the roundabout towards Zuideinde, you will soon drive a little further towards Marken, and then turn left through the new cut in the dike to the construction road. The construction road leads behind the Bierderij and via the Bierderij parking lot you will then arrive at the Galgeriet again. The road is marked with signs.
Are you coming to the Waterland location on foot or by bike? Come via the Brouwersbrug.
Are you coming for the Hemmeland location? Then take the cycle path from the Zeedijk to the Hemmeland.
