2-5-2025 – The past two years we have been busy behind the scenes to improve the wifi. At the end of April the wifi transmitters of Waterland were checked & replaced and the transmitters for Hemmeland are ready to connect.

Why a wifi network?

Many (navigation) devices require data and sometimes it is not convenient to do this via your own hotspot.

What is the name of the network?

It is called Waterland Free Wifi

What can you do with it?

There is a fair use policy on it. So browsing & downloading mail is fine. Streaming large files and connecting your on-board camera to it is not the intention – the connection will be throttled.

Why is the Hemmeland wifi not yet replaced?

For good coverage on Hemmeland we need fiber optic at the lighthouse. For this, we need to lay ducts, cut the asphalt and lift the Stelcon plates. The order for this has been given but we have not yet been scheduled.
There are already new transmitters at the harbour office and the toilet building, so it can already be used there.

Is the wifi ready for the new marina layout?

We will move all transmitters to the new harbour and will have one Waterland WiFi network.

How can we help?
